The events of this part take place between the mid-thirties and the early forties of the twentieth century, and witness the largest number of transformations in the life of the family of Mr. Ahmed Abdel-Gawad, as the heroes of the previous two parts disappear in the background of the scene, either due to death or voluntary withdrawal from life, while a generation takes the lead The grandchildren, after they have become young men, each have their own whims and tendencies. Kamal, who is an observer of transformations and is always immersed in contemplating people and events, participates in the championship. The novel was published in 1957 and screened in 1973.
