A book of texts in which Naguib Mahfouz inspired many scenes of his life full of personal experiences and intellectual reflections, without presenting what can be described as a traditional biography. The book includes 226 highly varied and condensed short texts, most of which are in the nature of narration and storytelling, while others focus on philosophical meditation and symbolic reference. Mahfouz included in this book a summary of his life experience, whether on a personal, human, or political and intellectual level. Many of his texts carried references to the writer's position on religion and faith, and on love and beauty. Many of them came out with a mystical flavor charged with depth, tolerance, and love for the universe and its creator.
