Notes on a Tense Planet - Matt Haig

We drown in books, drown in series and TV shows. Despite this, we can only read one book and watch one program at the same time. We have been able to multiply everything around us, but we have not multiplied ourselves. There is one for each of us. We are all much smaller than the Internet, and to enjoy our lives, perhaps we should stop thinking about things that we will not be able to read, watch, say or do, and perhaps we should start thinking of a way to enjoy the world within our simple limits. To live on a human level. To focus on the few things we can do. Instead of a million things we won't catch. To stop chasing after parallel lives. To find smaller math. To be one and proud selves. To be a hidden gem.
