How will Egypt be in 2023? The rich have isolated themselves in the "Utopia" of the northern coast, guarded by the American Marines. They take drugs and practice forbidden pleasures to the fullest, while the poor are crushed outside of it, eating each other's flesh in order to live, without electricity, sewage, or medical care of any kind. But when the narrator and his girlfriend "Germinal" sneak out of "Utopia" out of boredom and in search of a suitable "human catch", something happens that threatens the stable situation with an explosion. Similar to the horror of the signs of the Day of Resurrection, this exciting novel sounds the alarm, you almost doubt when you finish it. Is it really an imaginary novel, or did its writer infiltrate from the near future to convey its horror to you with amazing impartiality?
