The forties seemed to me an advanced stage when I was in my twenties. She's not related to grandmothers, but she's certainly not young. I've always thought that 40-year-olds should feel a little sad about reaching this point in their lives. Little did I know that most of them feel the same as I did inside my twenties but better, wiser and more confident, I had no way of knowing that most of them wouldn't want to go back to their twenties again even if I paid them, and that they actually love being in their forties. I never knew how beautiful and peaceful getting old can be. You simply stop caring about the unimportant things. And most things are not so important.
