Who doesn't know Mrs. Spoon? This short old woman is from the cartoon series produced by the Japanese company Yero in 1983. However, the series is based on a series written by Norwegian writer Alf Roysen in 1956, and its English translation - among twenty-three other languages - was published three years later.
The Lady Spoon has become a prominent figure in the Norwegian heritage, as well as in the languages into which it has been translated. She has a statue erected in the town of Hamar, in eastern Norway, made by sculptor Fritz Rudd in bronze in 1973.
