His name is “Chance” because he was born by chance, he has no family, he has no identity, he does not know how to write or read, he is a gardener who works in an old garden, completing the last moments of his life.

The old man dies and Chance finds himself on the sidelines, homeless and without a destination, but fate stands by him again and makes him a star that confuses the entire American society and gathers all the media and pushes the most important media devices to run after him, believing that he has the recipe to get the American economy out of its stagnation.
This novel was turned into a movie, which was selected by the US Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Film Registry, which made it culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.
