Dar Al-Shorouk has issued a new edition of the interesting biography of the great thinker, Dr. Abdel Wahhab Al-Messiri, which monitors his individual transformations in thought and methodology and chronicles, at the same time, an entire generation, or a section of it. From this perspective, the events of the author's life become insignificant in and of themselves. Rather, their importance lies in the extent of the light they cast on his intellectual development. The author understood many of the events of his private life through the same basic underlying themes and analytical arguments that he used in his studies and objective research, and not the other way around. However, this intellectual journey is the author's individual journey, as he is the one who interacted with the experiences around him since he was born in Damanhour and grew up there until he moved to Alexandria, from there to New York, and then finally to Cairo, where he settled down. A non-autobiographical biography, as it is also a non-objective biography, a biography of a person who meets the public in the space of his life, and for this reason he does not mention abstract intellectual issues only, but always accompanies them with events from his life or quotations from his writings that show how the (public) intellectual issue translated itself into events. And specific facts in his (private) personal life, in the smooth, deep and sarcastic style of the author. This new edition is characterized by some additions, the most important of which is a large photo appendix that deals with the author's journey and the various stages of his life.
