Roland, a student who does not care about his studies, meets a professor of literature, and a strong relationship develops between them, in which the student submits to his teacher completely, which is soon characterized by a kind of confusion, as passion is mixed with admiration and dependence. In parallel, Roland establishes a friendship with the wife, and thus he gets close to the couple together, integrating them into their daily lives, and it becomes clear to him that a secret separates them.
Through this narrative path, the reader feels strongly, in an atmosphere of suspense and tension, the ambiguity of feelings that dominates the characters of this strange triangular love relationship. Even Sigmund Freud himself noted the intelligence and relevance with which the writer conveyed the passion, distress, shame and guilt that taint these feelings arising from Ambiguity and what is forbidden.
